Alban Muja

Mostly influenced by the social, political and economical transformation processes in the wider surrounding region, he investigates history and socio-political themes and links them to his position in Kosovo today. His works cover a wide range of media including video installation, short film, documentary film, drawings, paintings, photographs and performance which have been exhibited extensively in various festivals, art fairs, group and solo exhibitions including Forum Stadtpark Graz, Museum of Fine Art, Split; Trieste Contemporanea; Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Rijeka; Škuc Gallery Ljubljana; The National Gallery of Kosovo; Myymala2 Gallery Helsinki; Nicodim Gallery, Bucharest/Los Angelos; Ludwig Museum, Budapest; Gagosian Gallery; Beverly Hills, ‘Mardin Biennale’ ‘2nd Biennial of Contemporary Art in the Atomic shelter in Konjic, BH; 28th Ljubljana Graphic Biennale; Slovak National Gallery; Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina; Berlinale’; Mestna Gallery, Ljubljana, NGBK, Berlin; Brot Kunsthalle, Vienna ; Göteborg Museum of Art; Cetinje Biennale 5; Nova Gallery, Zagreb, etc. He attended various residencies and received a number of fellowships in, among others, Vienna, Ljubljana, New York, Santa Fe, and Istanbul.
