Luiza Margan is a visual artist who examines relations between political ideologies, personal histories, and their shifts that shape public space and culture. Her projects include public performances and interventions as well as installations with objects, film, and photography. Margan has been awarded a one-year working stipend from Austrian Ministry for Science, Research and Business in 2014/15; Würdigungspreis from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 2014; the TH-T Art Award of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, and with Miha Presker the OHO Award Slovenia in 2007. She has been an artist in residence in New York, Italy, Mexico City, South Korea and France. Her work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Europe and abroad.
