Petrović is equally interested in the recording, aesthetic and archival function of photography, as well as the possibilities for its extensive evaluation and transposition into the domain of video and spatial installations. With regard to this, Petrović’s general approach to photography stems from the characteristics of its transitory nature: the instability of the identity of the medium and the instability of the identity of the subject it presents. Ivan Petrović’s thematic interests are directed towards the questions of history; heritage and discontinuity; identity and personal individual histories, as well as the position that the medium of photography occupies within the changing cultural, socio-political or technical and technological paradigms. Besides photography, he makes short documentary movies. He is co-founder and editor of the Center for Photography, an independent non-profit organization for the research, study, and promotion of photography, established in Belgrade in 2011. He received Dimitrije Bašičević Mangelos Award in 2008 and a KulturKontakt scholarship to Vienna, 2004. Selected exhibitions: Unexpected Sustainability (solo), Gallery of Belgrade Youth Center, 2016; Amuse Me, City Gallery of Ljubljana, 2013; Documents (solo), MoCA, Belgrade, 2009.”;s:5:”email”;s:0:””;s:5:”phone”;s:0:””;s:7:”address”;s:0:””;s:7:”socials”;a:1:{i:0;a:3:{s:4:”name”;s:0:””;s:5:”title”;s:0:””;s:3:”url”;s:0:””;}}}
