Ádám Albert

Brief info

Ádám Albert is the winner of the 2019 ACAX Leopold Bloom Young Visual Art Award.

His projects attempt to understand and criticize the mechanisms of power relations, bio-politics, knowledge productions, and the geopolitical basis of social realities. Albert’s recent solo exhibitions include Disconnected at Kisterem gallery, Budapest (2020), Everything is Ours! at Kassak Museum, Budapest (2018), and The Gardener’s Truth at Collegium Hungaricum Berlin (2018). He also participated in [Silence] - A Holocaust Exhibition at Ludwig Museum in Budapest. His works are featured in the permanent collection displays at the Hungarian National Gallery and Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art, and are also in the collections of MODEM – Modern and Contemporary Art Center, Debrecen and the House of Arts, Veszprém.

Albert was nominated for the Esterházy Art Award (2017), Leopold Prize (2015), and is the winner of ESSL Award (2007). He participated in numerous residencies including AtelierFrankfurt, CBH Berlin. He is an Associate Professor and head of the Department of Artistic Anatomy, Drawing and Geometry at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, Budapest as well as director of the Art and Art Theory College for Advanced Studies.
