Vedran Perkov

Brief info

Vedran Perkov creates environments, installations, and objects that while simulations of real objects are rendered imperfect, unfinished, barely an idea of their real form and purpose. Recent works feature video and sound. His practice arises from a particular context or concept, finding inspiration in everyday life, mass media, cultural environment, social, political and ideological issues. He explores the meaning of art, artistic practice, means of presentations, and the position of the artist. Opinions and critique found in his work often have an ironic detachment and a line of humor or parody. Solo exhibitions include the 2017 Disturbances, Kula Gallery, Split, Croatia; Jungle – Multimedia Culture Center, Split, Croatia, 2016; The Incredible World of Blavor & Kravosas – School Gallery, Split, Croatia, 2016; Thoughts for March – Studio 21 Gallery, Split, Croatia, 2016; Absolutely Nothing – Greta, Zagreb, Croatia, 2015; Untitled - Alkatraz Gallery, Ljubljana, Slovenia, 2014; Any Colour You Like –La Chambre Blanche, Québec, Canada, 2014; Captions – Prozori Gallery, Zagreb, Croatia, 2014; On réalise que l’on a tout perdu - Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes, le CRIJ Bretagne, le 4 bis- Rennes, France; Broadway Boogie- Woogie - Academia Moderna, Zagreb, Croatia; Sad But True – Museum of Contemporary Art of Istra, Pula, Croatia, in 2013, among others.
